The Equitable Trust Company Privacy Agreement
The Privacy Agreement is for an individual who has made application to us for any personal or business financial product or service offered by us including any co-applicants, guarantors or personal representatives.

The Equitable Trust Company does not directly provide all the services related to your relationship with us. We may, from time to time, use third party service providers to process or handle personal information on our behalf and to assist us with various services such as printing, mail distribution and marketing, and you acknowledge that we may release information about you to them. In addition, some of the service providers that we use to help deliver the services described above may be located outside of Canada. As a result, your personal information may be accessible to regulatory authorities in accordance with the law of these jurisdictions. When personal information is provided to our service providers, we will require them to protect the information in a manner that is consistent with The Equitable Trust Company privacy policies and practices.
Why do we ask for personal information?
- To verify your identity and protect against fraud.
- To understand your financial service requirements.
- To determine the suitability of products and services for you.
- To determine your eligibility for certain of our products and services and offer them to you.
- To set up and manage products and services you have requested, and to comply with legal, regulatory and contractual requirements.
Personal information includes any factual or subjective information, recorded or not, about an identifiable individual. This includes information in any form, such as:
- Age, name, ID numbers, income.
- Opinions, evaluations, comments, social status or disciplinary actions regarding an individual.
- Credit records, loan records, dispute records, of an individual.
